Club hold no interest in Malcom

Earlier this week Sky Sports News reported that Everton had made an approach for Bordeaux playmaker Malcom.

Maybe another reason why Sky Sports news shouldn’t be trusted as religiously as many do? It has been made clear through our sources that Everton have shown no interest in signing the Bordeaux winger Malcom.

Sky Sports reported on Monday that Everton were close to agreeing a £30mil deal for the Brazilian, with officials from both clubs due to meet later in the week. The report was false, no bid or enquiry had been lodged by Everton and officials haven’t made any contact with each other regarding the player.

Everton are keen to add new faces to the current crop of players, manager Marco Silva, has to his disposal. A winger is high on the clubs agenda with Yannick Bolasie not catching the new managers eye.

Although Malcom may not be of interest to the club, the news we reported last week regarding Wilfried Zaha is still very real. Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson played down reports in a press conference shortly after we released our article. However, as we understand Marco Silva and Marcel Brands have highlighted Zaha as a real possibility and will be looking to make a deal possible with Crystal Palace.

Marco Silva commented on Everton’s transfer activity after the clubs 1-1 draw with Bury in yesterday’s friendly.

“We expect in the next few days the new players will start to arrive. I’m confident.”

Although Marcel Brands and Marco Silva are keeping their cards firmly close to their chest, they are believed to have planned their moves for players and are now ready to action those plans.

Everton travel to Silva’s homeland on Friday to compete in The Algarve cup.
