Stoke v’s Everton Match Preview

Venue : Bet365 Stadium, Saturday 17th March 3pm kick off.

The Blues have won just one of their 15 away league games this campaign and current form is no wins in 5 away from Goodison Park.

Stoke are currently no wins in 3 at home (D2, L1) however they haven’t lost back to back at home since April last year.

They are in desperate need of 3 points so will be looking to capitalise on Everton’s poor away form.

However the Blues could have the edge. Because Sam Allardyce says so : 😂😂

Sam Allardyce: “We’ve tried a number of things. Changing system, changing personnel – but changing mentality is the big one.

“We’ve been using some more work into the mind in the analysis room. Who we are, what we want to achieve, what we can get.

“Visualising the performance you give at the top level and thinking of that to put yourself in a positive frame of mind. Tactically the preparation is fine but having a good frame of mind gives a better chance of it being delivered.”

On a serious note and from someone who’s not been on some herbal remedies the stats show that the blues should be in with a chance .

After a run of three wins in a row in the Premier League against Everton, Stoke are winless in their last four against them (D1 L3)

With Wayne Rooney having had a hand in four goals in his last four Premier League games against Stoke (three goals, one assist). Including his first goal on his return to Everton at the start of this season, and the goal that made him Manchester United’s all-time leading scorer on his last visit to the Bet365 Stadium. Let’s hope forMore of the same.

Although Everton have lost each of their last six away games in all competitions we expect them to end their abysmal run this weekend at the Bet365 Stadium.

Stoke are 19th in the Premier League and relegation looms for the Potters who have won just one match in 2018.

Team news

Theo Walcott is fit for Everton to face Stoke after recovering from injury, and Idrissa Gueye returns after illness. Gylfi Sigurdsson is out with a knee injury, and Ashley Williams is banned following his red card at Burnley.

Along with the Big Turk Cenk Tosun looking for a 3rd consecutive goal

The Blues should be fielding a strong side.

Striker Mame Biram Diouf could return for Stoke.

The Senegal international missed Monday’s defeat to Manchester City after sustaining a shoulder injury in the previous game against Southampton but will be assessed ahead of the game.

Forward Saido Berahino could also be in contention after building up his fitness levels but midfielder Stephen Ireland (calf) and goalkeeper Lee Grant (broken wrist) are out.
