Everton vs Tottenham – The Preview

Goodison plays host to a game, today, that has seen some dramatic goals and results in the past. Everton vs Spurs. Everything you need to know is below!

The Toffees come into this one of the back of a defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. A lot has been said for the way we shaped up against Chelsea, but, ultimately it was a failing of the team performance on the day. Ronald Koeman is expected to play a back 5, to utilise the option of having 2 wing backs and 3 CB once more.

Sandro Ramirez is to return to the team for todays game, which should give Everton a much needed impetus up front. Wayne Rooney has been in the firing line with off field dramas this week, but i’d be looking to put him as the first goalscorer on my coupon today to silence those critics. Believe it or not Ronald Koeman has made a u-turn on Oumar Niasse and he will most likely start from the bench in this afternoon’s game.

Tottenham approach Goodison park with the same match result record as Everton for the first 3 games of the season. Having only drawn to Burnley at Wembley last time out, it seems Tottenham may well be very reliant on picking up point on the road this season.

Harry Kane is yet to score a Premier League goal this season and Everton will be hoping that record goes a week long. The England international has struggled throughout the first month of the season and it appeara his form is crucial to the teams form as well. Spurs have threats right across the pitch and they will be hoping to display their full potential once again today, after a sticky start to their season.

MATCH OFFICIALS: Graham Scott (Referee), Richard West and Simon Long (Assistants), Kevin Friend (Fourth Official).
