Barcelona have made official moves to bring their former youth product back to the Nou Camp.
The Spanish u21’s captain, Gerard Deulofeu, 23, looks set to rejoin his boyhood club after it became apparent, Barcelona wanted him back.
Late on Sunday evening reports on Twitter began to surface, highlighting that the Catalonian club only had this season to trigger the buy-back option. The clause was agreed when Everton signed Deulofeu permanently from Barcelona and it means the Spanish Giants could get their former youth product back at a cut price.
Many feel Barcelona are more likely to buy the 23-year-old and then sell him on straight away. However, Barca wouldn’t be able to follow through with that ideology for almost 6 months, as players can only be permanently transfered once in each transfer window.
Geri struggled to impress new Everton manager Ronald Koeman, forcing the dutch man to loan the Spaniard out to AC Milan. In Italy Deulofeu impressed in the appearances he made, this has got people asking maybe he should be given another chance to prove his worth on Koeman’s side.
