Ronald Koeman recently stated that Gerard Deulofeu will return to Everton for pre-season training, unless “something” happens. The Toffees are seemingly divided on whether or not the Spaniard can play a role in next season’s charge on the Champions League.
With Romelu Lukaku set to leave Everton, the door may yet be open for the former Barcelona winger to stay at Goodison Park. However, the jury on whether or not the ability is there to perform in the Premier League is still out.
Questioned upon his future, the 23-year-old replied: “Maybe sometimes I’ve thought too much about the future. It will be a busy summer in my case but I’m calm and everything will work out, that’s for sure. I’m living in a good moment personally and on the field, let me enjoy it.”
Having contributed 4 goals and 3 assists in 16(1) appearances for AC Milan, Gerard Deulofeu has reportedly convinced Barcelona he may be worthy of a return to the Nou Camp. Despite this, his future at Everton remains unclear.
What’s your thoughts, Blues? Is Gerard Deulofeu good enough for Everton Football Club? Or does his ability suit the slower, less-pressing based style of play in Italy or Spain?
